Learning that is meaningful and rigorous inspires children to see the wonder of life.

Learning

Our learning approach to early childhood education is inspired by Reggio Emilia, where the child is valued as strong, capable and resilient, rich with wonder and knowledge.

As a community of teachers, we have worked together to develop our image of the competent child. We value the knowledge that each child brings, and through careful ‘listening’, we are able to work with them to gain a deeper understanding of all the different ways that children use to tell us what they know and can do.

Every child brings deep curiosity and potential. This innate curiosity drives their interest to understand their world and their place within it.

Our school follows the Australian Curriculum, focussing on the key learning areas of:

  • Religious Education
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Sciences
  • Technologies
  • The Arts
  • Languages (Italian)
  • Health and Physical Education
  • Humanities and Social Sciences

Playful environments

Play is a child’s natural expression and way of learning. We believe that students learn best when learning is relevant and connected to their experience. So we create opportunities for children’s senses to be active and their brains making new and powerful connections.

Healthy environments

We are committed to promoting and improving our student’s health and their environments. We encourage them to be healthy individuals. From their ‘brain food’ to their water bottles that are always nearby. Your child will also benefit from a healthy outdoor learning environment with participation in sport and our sustainability program.
